As a senior Internal Communications leader, you’ll sit at the heart of a complex organisation—translating strategy into meaning, and vision into action. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Communications, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring every colleague understands not just what we’re doing, but why it matters.
What You’ll Lead
- Own and deliver a high-impact internal communications strategy that cuts through, connects, and drives real engagement
- Lead and energise a talented Internal Comms team, ensuring delivery is sharp, on time, and on budget
- Shape organisational alignment—bringing our Corporate Plan and City Vision to life for thousands of employees
- Partner with HR and senior leadership to embed engagement, wellbeing and performance through compelling communications
- Drive innovation—champion smarter tools, digital channels, and modern content approaches that deliver efficiency and impact
- Elevate internal reputation—positioning Internal Communications as a trusted, strategic enabler across the council
- Deliver senior leadership roadshows that inform, inspire and build belief in our direction of travel
