Senior Planning Officer – Development & Regeneration Planning

Permanent, Consultation grade (subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review).

Working 36.5 hours per week on a hybrid basis.

These are exciting times to be working at Birmingham City Council, one of the largest and most exciting Local Planning Authorities in the country.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Help create and implement planning and regeneration frameworks, development briefs, and area masterplans.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders and communities through consultations and negotiations.
  • Work on projects across the city, providing support and guidance to major housing regeneration initiatives.
  • Support neighbourhood planning processes.
  • Help maintain the city’s development site pipeline.
  • Contribute to major corporate projects, support Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs), seek funding, and ensure proper use of S106 funds.
  • Promote the city’s development opportunities to developers and investors and work closely with Business Improvement Districts, ward members, community groups, schools, and universities.

Qualifications

The role requires that you have, or are working towards, RTPI membership.
