Responsibilities
- Successful candidates will be responsible for undertaking inspections and investigations and taking enforcement action where there is non-compliance across a range of food hygiene and standards legislation.
- Inspect food premises to ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations.
- Investigate complaints and incidents related to food safety.
- Provide enforcement actions, including issuing notices and serving them.
- Collect evidence, write witness statements and prepare prosecution files.
- Produce clear, concise written reports and correspondence.
- Engage with residents, businesses, colleagues and partner agencies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and best practice.
Qualifications
- Higher Certificate in Food Control.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Experience in enforcement of legislation, including drafting and serving notices, collecting evidence, writing witness statements and preparing prosecution files.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to produce clear, concise written reports and correspondence.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Competence in IT systems including Microsoft Office applications.
