About the role
Birmingham City Council is seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial, Marketing & Communications Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering the UEFA EURO 2028 programme.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the city’s commercial protection, marketing strategy, and communications for one of the world’s biggest sporting events. You will ensure full compliance with UEFA’s commercial rights and branding requirements, protecting the integrity of the tournament while showcasing Birmingham on a global stage.
You will develop and deliver a city-wide marketing and communications plan, engaging residents, visitors, businesses, and stakeholders. The role involves coordinating high-profile campaigns, managing operational communications during live events, and leading responses to emerging issues in a fast-paced environment
Working across council services and with key partners, you will support event delivery, oversee city dressing and wayfinding, and ensure consistent, high-quality messaging.
We’re looking for a highly skilled professional with significant experience in marketing, communications, or commercial management within large-scale events, alongside strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities.
