As Connected Communities Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how Birmingham connects people, places, and services. You’ll build relationships across the voluntary sector, statutory partners, and community groups, ensuring collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. You will lead the delivery of a high‑quality library service across Birmingham, working as part of the senior management team to ensure our Community Library Hubs are dynamic, inclusive spaces that support learning, wellbeing, digital inclusion, and employment pathways. A key part of your role will be working closely with our Homes and Money advice service, providing support and guidance to residents. You’ll also be responsible for key outcomes within the Early Intervention and Prevention outcomes framework, ensuring our work is evidence‑based, impactful, and aligned with citywide priorities.
Responsibilities
- Building and sustaining strong partnerships across communities, voluntary organisations, and public services.
- Developing neighbourhood delivery models, in co‑locations with wider public services.
- Overseeing the strategic development of Community Library Hubs and ensuring statutory library standards are met.
- Supporting employment, skills, and digital inclusion pathways for citizens.
- Managing budgets, resources, and funding opportunities.
- Developing outcome frameworks and service improvement strategies.
- Working with local businesses to ensure social value and corporate social responsibility are incorporated within the service model.
- Ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are fully embedded in practice.
