Client Financial Services Officer (x3)

Grade B – £28,598 – £34,434

Working 36.5 hours per week

Client Financial Services is a unique team responsible for conducting the financial assessments of adults who receive care services provided by Birmingham City Council. They also handle the financial monitoring of over 3000 accounts, administer Birmingham City Council’s Direct Payment system for providing care, and oversee the Appointee and Court Deputy service, assisting vulnerable citizens to manage their finances.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial assessments for people living in a care home.
  • Provide high‑quality financial services to internal and external customers.
  • Administer and maintain financial processes, including complex cases.
  • Offer guidance and support to colleagues, acting as an escalation point for unusual situations.
  • Keep up to date with legislation and welfare reforms to ensure compliance.
  • Help minimise directorate debt and contribute to continuous improvement.

Areas of Work (3 opportunities)

  • Financial Assessment for People Receiving Care – Work directly with vulnerable individuals and their families, providing clear guidance and support during financial assessments.
  • Direct Payments Processing – Help people manage their care funding by processing direct payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Account Management & Billing – Join the team that handles invoices and payments for care providers.

All training will be provided.
