We are looking for an experienced Adaptations Team Leader to join the Staying Independent at Home Team, working with adults and children with physical and mental health impairments that affect their ability to access facilities in their homes. The role involves processing Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) and working closely with our lead provider to design suitable adaptations for eligible citizens.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high quality support and advice to internal and external customers, ensuring all cases are completed and progressed in a timely manner.
- Proactively drive change and streamline adaptation service processes to improve customer service, in support of the Multi-Disciplinary Team Manager, Adaptations Contract Manager and Senior Practitioner.
- Manage day‑to‑day staff within the service, including supervision, development and deployment to meet business demands.
- Work closely with third‑party organisations and the lead provider to ensure adaptations comply with Birmingham City Council statutory duties.
- Lead the delivery of adaptations to citizens of Birmingham and manage a complex caseload, providing technical expertise, coaching and mentoring to the team.
