As a Social Work Practice Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting and supervising staff in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will work closely with Lead Practitioner's, Team Managers, families, carers, and other professionals to assess needs, develop family plans, and provide family support. Our services will always be joined up, and you will develop robust partnerships with other teams and outside agencies; to include the police, health, schools and voluntary organisations.
We have been rated as 'Good' by Ofsted, following a 2023 inspection. This is a fantastic achievement for Birmingham Children's Trust, with many positive highlights focusing on areas including the quality of staff leadership, partnership working, safeguarding and corporate parenting.

What will I be doing?
As a Social Work Practice Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting Lead Practitioners and Team Managers to ensure children and families receive high-quality, needs-led S17 assessments and timely support and planning under Child in Need.
- Providing reflective supervision and casework oversight.
- Supporting the development and delivery of multi-agency Family Help plans.
- Chairing multi-agency meetings, quality assure and authorise assessments and reports.
- Promoting the voice of the child and ensure their views shape their care.
