About The Role
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Assistant Care Manager to join our supportive and nurturing team.
Our aim is to create a nurturing environment where children can develop the skills and confidence, they need for day-to-day life.
We support children with emotional well-being, health, and social needs, tailoring our care to meet their individual requirements.
As our Assistant Care Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people to thrive in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
You will oversee the developed and implement personalised care plans that reflect each child's individual needs, preferences, and goals, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
Using a variety of communication methods and visual aids, you will help children express their wishes and feelings confidently.
In addition, you will be completing case file audits and completing supervisions empowering and supporting the staff team whilst supporting the Deputy Managers and Registered Team Manager to achieve the shared common goals.
Working collaboratively with parents, schools, social workers, and other professionals, you will promote consistency and positive developmental outcomes.
You will also encourage independence by supporting children with everyday life skills such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and self-care, while planning and delivering meaningful activities tailored to each child's abilities and interests.

The Children's Home provides a 24 hour service, applicants for these roles will be expected to work shifts, some weekends, and bank holidays.

About you:
We're seeking someone with warmth, resilience, and leadership capability who can bring empathy and structure to our care environment:
You will have:
- A qualification in Children and Young People at least at NVQ Level 3
- Proven ability to handle complex behaviours and emotionally challenging situations
- Experience managing staff and working in residential childcare (essential)
- Skilled in communication (including use of visual and adaptive aids)
- Knowledge of care legislation and quality standards
- Commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practices
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide network of professionals
- Available for shift work, weekends, public holidays.
