Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Freight Forwarder to join our dynamic logistics team within our Bonded Warehouse. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the transportation of goods from one location to another, ensuring that shipments are delivered on time and in compliance with all regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain processes and excellent negotiation skills, as well as experience with various software and systems used in freight forwarding.
Duties
- Coordinate and manage the movement of freight from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery.
- Negotiate rates and terms with carriers and suppliers to optimise cost efficiency.
- Utilise Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and manage logistics operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including documentation for customs clearance.
- Collaborate with sales teams to generate leads and develop new business opportunities within the freight forwarding sector.
- Implement Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems to streamline communication with partners and clients.
- Work closely with our bonded warehouse team to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices are followed.
Experience
- Proven experience in freight forwarding or a related field is essential.
- Familiarity with AS400 systems is advantageous.
- Strong background in sales management within the logistics or supply chain industry is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using software related to transportation management and logistics operations.
