A Vacancy at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The Clinical Health Psychology Service provides specialist psychological assessments and interventions for patients, and consultancy to colleagues in a number of Physical Health specialities provided by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust from their sites at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Good Hope Hospital, Solihull Hospital and Heartlands Hospital.

We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic and committed Consultant Clinical Psychologist who would like to join our friendly service to help develop the services further as the Lead Consultant for Physical Health. The successful applicant will have responsibility for advising services about business cases for psychological needs of their patient group, leading and developing existing Psychology services for patients affected by a wide range of conditions.

This role will involve responsibility to lead and develop a range of inpatient and outpatient Physical Health services, alongside the Consultant Clinical Psychologist for Cancer Services and the Consultant Lead for Clinical Neuropsychology. There are significant opportunities within QEHB to develop and expand the Physical health services to additional sub-specialties and the successful applicant will also have the support of the new Director of Psychology postholder and a dedicated Clinical Service Manager in addition to Corporate services to develop business cases as requested.

With close links to local universities, our department prides itself in a rich history of teaching and research, we also enjoy supervising Assistant Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists as they progress through their careers in Clinical Psychology.
