We\'re looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Support, Time & Recovery (STR) Worker to join the Newington Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Service (CMHWS). As an STR Worker, you\'ll play a vital frontline role in helping people move forward in their recovery journey. You\'ll work alongside a skilled and friendly multidisciplinary team to provide practical, social and emotional support to individuals in the community—empowering them to set goals, regain confidence, and connect with the opportunities and services that matter most to them. This is a dynamic, hands‑on role where no two days are the same. You might be helping someone rebuild their daily routine, supporting them to attend appointments, or exploring new ways to enhance wellbeing and independence through creative, community‑based solutions. You\'ll hold a small caseload, allowing you to build real, trusting relationships and deliver personalised, recovery‑focused care in line with the CMHWS approach—combining compassion, collaboration, and practical problem‑solving.
Responsibilities
- Ensure effective care pathways to a range of services that will enhance individual recovery, achieved through close liaison with identified partners and community organisations, including employment/training providers, housing and mental health. Engage in low intensity psychosocial interventions to service users on caseload supported by clinical supervision from clinical leads and psychology colleagues within the MDT setting. Signpost service users to appropriate facilities and provide effective, time‑and‑need‑led support.
