This role involves handling queries from service users, including GPs, patients and their representatives, delivering professional service in line with legislation, policies and procedures including data protection and confidentiality. You will take accurate written messages and pass more complex queries to the relevant staff. You will also validate patient details and update any changes to the patient records in the appropriate systems.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone inquiries and provide a telephone answering service for the Locality Team, transferring calls to the appropriate staff or taking messages and logging details accurately.
  • Use word processing packages and Microsoft Office to produce documents (letters, faxes, tables, reports) and perform routine clerical duties (filing, photocopying, production of letters) to specified formats.
  • Utilise Outlook for email communication, manage meeting room and equipment bookings, and produce notices for the office as required.
  • Ensure accuracy of patient details and demographics and update changes on the relevant database.
