Job Overview

You are invited to join the George Ward team as the housekeeper. You will be required to maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness on the ward. You will support the senior nurse/ward nursing team in the maintenance and development of housekeeping services by providing modern, professional housekeeping services on the Ward.

The primary purpose of the role is to alleviate the housekeeping workload of nursing staff, enabling them to focus on quality patient care.

One of the other job essentials is working closely with the infection control link/lead to adhere to the principles of the infection control guidelines.

Main Duties of the Job

  1. Responsible for providing a housekeeping service to the ward.
  2. Responsible for ensuring ward food and linen orders are maintained.
  3. Responsible for serving meals and ensuring patients\’ dietary requirements are met.
  4. Responsible for overall quality control for housekeeping functions, housekeeping staff, and volunteers that may perform housekeeping functions.

To participate in the annual Individual Performance Review process and Personal Development Plan, undertaking training & development as identified in line with the requirements of the Knowledge & Skills Framework.

Person Specification

  • Willingness to undertake training.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, reporting effectively.

Application Form and Interview

All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust’s induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9-14 hours depending on post) by the end of your first week with us.
