Overview
An exciting opportunity for a full-time Apprenticeship to work within the Juniper Centre, Moseley Hall Hospital site. Our staff provide assessment, specialist support, treatment and care planning for service users with functional and organic mental health problems.
You will be the first point of contact for patients, staff and visitors. It is essential that you present in a friendly and approachable manner. The reception is open 5 days a week, between 8am–6pm, and the appointee will cover a shift pattern alongside colleagues to meet service needs.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and provide an effective and efficient clerical, administrative and reception service to patients, staff and visitors.
- Record and book out-patient appointments and monitor attendance using electronic systems.
- Monitor, record and manage a busy telephone line; receive all incoming mail and ensure appropriate action is taken; process clinical letters and other correspondence.
- Work in conjunction with other team members, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members, other health professionals, GPs, social workers, service users and other agencies as appropriate.
- Demonstrate initiative, effective organisational and administrative skills; act as an ambassador at the front desk, handling face-to-face enquiries and signposting calls to relevant departments.
- Issue keys, fobs and alarms; oversee day-to-day reception operations (e.g., maintaining supplies, preparing posters and display boards, actioning email requests for reception and outpatients).

- IT literate with the ability to work in a busy, customer-facing environment.
- Outgoing and enthusiastic personality with flexibility to meet organisational needs.
- Ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate strong organisational and administrative skills.
