Join Birmingham Airport’s Terminal Infrastructure Team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician and play a key role in maintaining and improving the airport’s extensive infrastructure. This role involves pre-planned, remedial, and reactive maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of terminal facilities and associated buildings, enhancing the passenger experience and airport aesthetics. You will also contribute to efficiency, sustainability, and safety improvements, making a real impact on the airport’s infrastructure.

Core Duties

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across terminal and airport facilities, including building fabric, fire doors, painting, flooring, and general carpentry.
  • Ensure the availability, good order, and aesthetics of airport assets to improve the passenger journey.
  • Use Birmingham Airport’s asset management software to update maintenance records and ensure compliance.
  • Identify efficiency and sustainability opportunities within airport facilities infrastructure.
  • Supervise and escort external contractors, ensuring work is completed to required standards.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring all works comply with relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Experience Required

  • Recognised qualifications in facilities maintenance, carpentry, or related trade.
  • Experience in building maintenance, repairs, and general facilities infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and email for reporting and communication.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible approach, with a willingness to receive training and stay updated on new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments and with stakeholders.
  • Full time – 4 on 4 off 12 hour shifts
