We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our Health, Safety and Fire Team at Birmingham Airport. This role will play a key part in supporting colleagues across the airport on all aspects of health and safety. You will provide expert advice, lead a team of Health & Safety Advisors, and contribute to strategic development and cultural change across the airport community, ensuring statutory compliance and best practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing competent Health & Safety advice and guidance across a diverse range of risks
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of Health & Safety Advisors
  • Support the delivery and continuous improvement of the Health, Safety and Fire strategy
  • Provide guidance and assurance to stakeholders, tenants and contractors
  • Deputise for the Head of Health, Safety and Fire when required
  • Contribute to strategic programmes that drive positive safety culture change

Duties:

  • Deliver practical, proportionate health and safety advice in a complex, high-risk environment
  • Ensure accidents and incidents are appropriately investigated and actions agreed and tracked
  • Undertake assurance activities, including audits, to ensure compliance with set standards
  • Support the development and delivery of health and safety training aligned to risk profiles
  • Produce reports, action plans and policy documentation to support compliance and improvement
  • Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge and continuous professional development
