We are looking for a proactive and collaborative Health & Safety Advisor to join our Health, Safety and Fire Team at Birmingham Airport. This role will play a key part in supporting colleagues across the airport on all aspects of health and safety. You will play an important role in providing professional advice, supporting statutory compliance, and contributing to strategic safety initiatives and cultural change across the airport community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a health and safety generalist, supporting the management of health, safety and fire risks.
- Support the delivery and development of the Health, Safety and Fire strategy and delivery plan.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety culture and compliance.
- Manage specific risks, such as harmful substances, vibration and noise.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to promote best practice.
Duties:
- Provide competent, pragmatic health and safety advice across a diverse and complex risk environment.
- Review and develop health, safety and fire policies, procedures and guidance.
- Lead or support investigations into accidents, incidents and near-misses, sharing lessons learned.
- Undertake assurance activities, including audits in order to provide assurance against set standards.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training to raise awareness and competence.
- Produce reports and action plans, agreeing and tracking improvement actions.
