Birmingham Airport is looking for an experienced Building Management Systems (BMS) Manager to oversee the operation, performance, and development of our Building Management Systems across the airport estate. You’ll play a key role in ensuring efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective building operations as we grow towards 18 million passengers a year and work towards becoming a net zero carbon airport by 2033. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the infrastructure of one of the UK’s busiest airports and help shape our long-term asset strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the efficient and sustainable operation of the BMS/BEMS across the terminal and estate.
- Identify faults, optimise system performance, and manage the onsite BMS contractor.
- Produce regular reports on energy usage, system performance, and continuous improvement.
- Act as the airport’s BMS/BEMS subject matter expert and support Asset Management planning.
- Lead BMS-related projects, standards, commissioning, and operational handovers.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environment regulations and internal policies.
Experience Required
- Proven experience managing BMS/BEMS on large, complex sites (airport-scale or equivalent).
- Working knowledge of systems such as Schneider, Trend, or Cylon.
- Relevant qualifications in BMS, electrical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across diverse teams.
- Experience with asset information models, maintenance planning, and continuous improvement.
- Sound understanding of CDM regulations and Health & Safety best practices.
