The Airline Account Manager manages and develops Birmingham Airport’s portfolio of airline partners, acting as the primary commercial relationship owner for assigned accounts. The role ensures strong delivery of commercial agreements, builds long‑term strategic partnerships and drives customer success, retention and sustainable growth. Working closely with airline stakeholders and internal teams, it focuses on understanding airline objectives, identifying opportunities, resolving challenges and maximising value through improved passenger traffic, route performance and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic airline partnerships - Build trusted relationships with airline commercial, network planning, airport affairs and operational teams.
  • Customer success & retention - Develop account plans that strengthen satisfaction, improve retention and ensure expectations are met.
  • Growth opportunity development - Identify opportunities for new routes, increased capacity and improved commercial performance.
  • Contract & agreement oversight - Monitor commercial agreements, incentive schemes and contractual obligations.
  • Performance analysis - Review passenger growth, capacity, KPIs and route performance, providing regular account updates and recommendations.
  • Internal coordination - Work with Operations, Marketing, Finance and Customer Experience to ensure commitments are delivered and issues resolved.
  • Commercial account management within a customer‑focused or key account environment.
  • Contract management including commercial agreements and incentive structures.
  • Stakeholder relationship building with proven ability to collaborate and influence.
  • Aviation data usage to support commercial insight and decision‑making.
  • B2B customer service with a strong focus on quality and responsiveness.
  • Commercial insight applied to airline performance and decision‑making.
  • Aviation or airport industry experience.
  • Commercial contract experience within an aviation context.
  • Airline economics knowledge including airport operations or route development.
