We are seeking a skilled Airfield Technician to join the Airfield Infrastructure team at Birmingham Airport. Reporting to the Airfield Engineering Supervisor, you will help maintain and repair airfield systems and operational areas, ensuring safe and efficient aircraft operations. This role involves working with a variety of internal teams, airlines, contractors, and airport stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, safety-focused, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, operational environment. You will contribute to the team’s continuous improvement, supporting maintenance, inspections, and technical operations across the airport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair Aero Nautical Lighting systems and associated control equipment.
- Conduct minor civil repair work on operational runways and taxiways.
- Carry out inspections, testing, and planned maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Prepare and maintain documentation including inspection reports, logbooks, and job records.
- Assist with materials management, site deliveries, and stock control.
- Provide airside escort or RT cover for contractors as required.
