Our vibrant, energetic Comm Tech & IP team boasts some of the best lawyers in the region specialising in all aspects of both commercial contracts and intellectual property work. Although the role is based in Cambridge, the successful candidate will work with specialist solicitors spread across our offices. The team has the strength and depth of expertise to ensure we deliver the service expected in respect of technical quality, practical approach and timeliness of advice.
The Comm Tech & IP team is now recruiting for an articulate and forward-thinking Legal Secretary to join us on a full time permanent basis, working in our Cambridge office. You will provide professional, pro-active, and high level administration support to a group of fee earners and to the wider fee earning team.
You will have the ability to contribute at an operational level, with excellent communication skills and can demonstrate general skills in:
- Strong administration experience
- Positive, enthusiastic and professional approach
- Strong attention to detail, high level organisational skills and reliability
- Self-motivated with an ability to use own initiative and a desire to learn
Your responsibilities will include:
- Proactively working with fee earners to ensure relevant documentation is produced to meet clients’ expectations and deadlines
- Formatting, paginating, numbering and presenting documents in Birketts LLP house style
- Proofreading all work
- Good standard in Word – formatting, processing amendments, numbering etc
- Managing diaries of allocated fee earners in Microsoft Outlook
- Processing expense claims
