Overview
As a Business Development Executive, you drive strategic plans for designated practice and sector groups within Birketts. You collaborate with group leads to shape budgets, monitor ROI, and push growth through targeted marketing and business development activities. You’ll coordinate events, bids, content, and campaigns, ensuring alignment with the firm’s objectives and client priorities. You join a KPI‑driven, collaborative team that values data, innovation, and client experience as core to growth.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans for practice groups and sector groups
- Monitor budget and ROI for BD activities to stay within objectives
- Coordinate regular practice and sector group meetings and triage BD/marketing requests
- Support adoption of Intapp dashboards for robust lead generation
- Identify new business areas and client segments with group Leads
- Coordinate events, sponsorships, and ensure ROI considerations are central
- Collaborate with Client Development, Bids, Digital, PR, and Events teams for integrated activity
- Produce and update marketing collateral; oversee content on website, intranet, and social channels
- Support thought leadership campaigns, including innovative programs
- Ensure awareness of bid opportunities and collaborate on enterprise client programmes
- Direct and coordinate bids managed by the Bids Team related to the groups
- Provide regular reporting on activity, outcomes, and KPI progress
- Support line manager with additional responsibilities as needed
Key requirements
- Solid background in business development and marketing, ideally in a professional services environment
- Strong interest in industry and sector trends
- Excellent written and verbal communication with high attention to detail
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to influence senior stakeholders
- Understanding of marketing and BD processes
- Collaborative team player with diplomacy, active listening and influencing skills
