Our branding and trade marks team is prominent in the UK, noted as a 'leading firm' in the Legal sector. The team is a core part of the wider IP team and is made up of experts in the management and strategy of IP, including trade mark portfolio management both nationally and internationally through a trusted network of agents abroad.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the team’s Senior Paralegal to further develop the administrative support provided to the branding & trade marks team.
- Provide administration and case management support for our trade mark attorneys.
- Check and manage the Team's central email inbox for official communications and enter deadlines.
- Prepare and file trade mark applications.
- Prepare, check, and proofread communications, forms, and other documents for general and specific case/client requirements, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Act as liaison between Birketts and overseas lawyers to provide instructions and progress work matters.
- Manage queries from clients relating to IP, using support from other parts of the team and firm as appropriate.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years or more of trade mark paralegal experience, ideally CITMA qualified and educated to degree level.
- A keen interest in intellectual property and delivering great client service.
- Ability to work independently, manage their own workload, prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Good standards of written and spoken English with strong attention to detail.
- Competence with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and ability to pick up and work with other IT systems as required.
