The team you will join:
Our Utilities team sits within the wider Real Estate Division, advising on complex infrastructure, energy and utilities related property matters and volume conveyancing for the networks including electricity, gas, fibre, water and EV Charge point operators. The team acts for a wide range of clients, including statutory undertakers, national and regional energy providers, water companies, and landowners. Our work spans acquisitions and disposals, easements and wayleaves, infrastructure agreements and strategic land projects. With lawyers at varying levels of qualification, the team is one of the largest dedicated Utilities teams in the country, and proud to represent several of the registered Independent Distribution Network Operators in England.
The work you will be doing:
- To provide support to the fee earners in the team and assist in the work of the department
- Undertake fee earning work under supervision
- Populating first drafts of transfers, deeds and leases
- Updating and reporting to clients and intermediaries on transactional progress
- Conducting title investigations
- Submitting searches and reviewing search results
- Reviewing replies to a standard set of enquiries
- Checking planning permission is correct for the asset
- Completing transactions and dealing with post completion requirements
- Provide an efficient and friendly service to clients
- Obtaining draft indemnity policies
- Approving restriction certificate/consents and RX4/RX3s
- Producing report on documents for the client
- Producing and sending out engrossments

Once you have successfully passed probation, this role attracts a split of 80% office days and 20% working from home days per week.
