Purpose of job

To work as part of a team assisting in providing efficient and accurate accounts and credit control service to the firm.

Accountabilities

  • Use debtors reporting to effectively manage and chase aged debt
  • Monitor and update Collections module with case information
  • Send monthly credit control statements to clients
  • Send reminder letters to clients
  • Assist Credit Control Manager to provide regular progress reports to Financial Controller and Finance Director
  • Successfully resolve queries from fee earners, secretaries, client financial administrators and clients regarding bills raised
  • Work with Debt Recovery Team to help elevate cases that require further debt management
  • Work effectively with accounts team to allocate payments
  • Process credit card payments from clients
  • Ensure that own knowledge and skills are kept up-to-date and request training where necessary

The candidate

A-level or equivalent, including maths. Proven experience of working in an Accounts department.

  • Strong IT skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise.
  • Excellent communication skills.
