The team you will join
The Birketts Private Client Division focuses on advising individuals, families and trustees. The team delivers advice on succession, tax planning, trusts, family law, court of protection and other complex matters.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating relevant contracts, deeds, documents, advice notes, letters and correspondence.
- Acting as key point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships, identifying opportunities to add value.
- Participating in marketing and networking initiatives.
- Managing personal financial performance, demonstrating accountability and a commercial mindset.
- Demonstrating professional integrity and a commitment to providing excellent client service.
- Competence in using Microsoft Word, Excel, time recording software, case management, Outlook and digital dictation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrable interest and foundational knowledge in chosen practice area.
- Track record of managing caseloads with minimal supervision (Senior Associate level).
- Strong attention to detail producing high-standard documentation.
- Dependable and efficient time management.
- Interest in business development and identifying opportunities.
- Professional integrity and a commitment to excellent client service.
- Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, time recording software, case management, Outlook and digital dictation.
As a Solicitor, we typically expect candidates to have between 0–3 years PQE. As an Associate, 3–6 years PQE, and at Senior Associate, a minimum of 6 years PQE. PQE is used as guidance only and will not be determinative.
Working arrangement
Hybrid working model with 60% office days and 40% working from home after successful probation. During the 6‑month probation period, full-time office attendance is required.
