The Birketts Commercial Real Estate Division is one of the best regarded and largest dedicated real estate practices within any firm outside of London, with over 200 lawyers across the firm as a whole. You will join our Cambridge office, which houses the firm’s centre for excellence for Strategic Land Development, as well as specialists in Core Real Estate, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Investment, Clean & Renewable Energy, Residential Development, Commercial Development, Management and General Advisory, for a broad variety of clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious junior Commercial Real Estate lawyer to join our successful and growing Commercial Real Estate team in Cambridge. You will have the opportunity to work on the full range of Commercial Real Estate deals, both locally and nationally, including strategic land promotion, residential and commercial development, investment sales and purchases, leasing and asset management (acting for both landlords and tenants), real estate finance, clean energy and general advisory work. We deal with a wide range of high quality Commercial Real Estate work, much of which is complex, high value and high profile.
You will be responsible for:
- Drafting and negotiating on relevant contracts, deeds, documents, advice notes, letters and correspondence tailored to the client’s individual needs and requirements
- Direct communication with clients, advisers and other relevant stakeholders
- Supporting an active caseload with the aim of providing efficient and effective advice
- Participating in marketing and networking initiatives

What we are looking for:
- Completion of a recognised training contract or equivalent qualifying experience
- Demonstrable interest and foundational knowledge in chosen practice area

- Professional integrity and a commitment to providing excellent client service
- To be competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel, time recording software, case management, Outlook and digital dictation
