Overview
As Senior Technologist you will build and sustain the Centre for Creative AI's technical foundations, enabling open-source AI models to run locally on high-performance GPU workstations for artists, media practitioners, students and researchers.
You will install, configure and maintain local deployments, manage dependencies and inference serving, and support data preparation, fine-tuning and Lo RA training.
You will also oversee access to commercial AI platforms with a focus on licensing, cost control and responsible use.

Responsibilities
- Install, configure and maintain local model deployments and GPU environments
- Manage dependencies and inference serving
- Support node-based workflows, dataset preparation, fine-tuning and Lo RA training
- Evaluate new models and tools as the field evolves
- Manage access to commercial AI platforms and APIs, including licensing and cost control
- Promote responsible use, licensing, privacy, bias, accessibility and sustainability
- Support teaching and creative work across the Centre's spaces
- Collaborate with Audio-Visual and Digital Technologist and the Immersive Learning Centre
- Key requirements
- Strong technical depth with Python environments, command-line tools and model repositories
- Working understanding of GPU/VRAM constraints
- Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
- Awareness of licensing, copyright, data provenance, privacy, bias, accessibility and sustainability
- Background in research computing, creative technology, studio or industry, or as an artist/media practitioner with technical depth
