Join Birkbeck\’s Information Services department as an Information Security Analyst – team lead, and play a pivotal role in safeguarding our institutional systems and data.

Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated security professional to take ownership and lead Security Operations and initiatives that protect our infrastructure, data, and users.

As Information Security Analyst, you’ll work in a collaborative environment, engaging with stakeholders across the business to drive a proactive security posture, embed best practices and deliver innovative solutions to emerging threats.

This role is offered on permanent, full-time (35 hours a week) contract, with a salary of £51,000 rising to £60,018 per year and a generous annual leave and pension scheme in the higher education sector.

As an Information Security Analyst, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • In-depth knowledge of information security frameworks and standards
  • Understanding of current IT threats, vulnerabilities, and legislation
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to use digital forensic techniques
  • Experience with Cisco networking technologies and Fortinet Firewalls
  • Experience in managing IT security events and delivering training.

£51,000 rising to £60,018 per year, Grade 8 of the College\’s London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance that applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
