Are you ready to help shape the future of teaching and learning at Birkbeck, University of London? Do you have experience in virtual reality, immersive learning, and teaching in educational or business contexts?
Birkbeck is looking for a talented, passionate, and proactive Head of Immersive Learning Centre to manage our Immersive Learning Centre (ILC), funded by OFS. You will oversee the Centre's facilities and services, help shape its development, and integrate Immersive Learning (IL) into our future educational strategies. The position offers a salary of £63,402 to £70,801 per year, is full-time, permanent, and includes flexible working arrangements.
This exciting role involves building relationships with academic and senior management staff, establishing networks from scratch, designing and implementing processes and systems, managing equipment and budgets, and promoting the ILC.
You will also explore partnerships, coordinate research, and support Birkbeck staff and students in developing IL content, projects, and programmes, embedding IL into teaching practices across disciplines to enhance learning experiences.
Initially, you will manage a senior technician and collaborate closely with the Digital Education team and the wider Information Services colleagues.
Ideal candidates may be working in an academic VR/AR/IL role, have experience in learning technologies focused on this area, or come from industry seeking a career change.

Salary and benefits: £63,402 rising to £70,801 per annum, Grade 9 on the London Pay Scale, including a consolidated London Weighting Allowance.
