Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking an Associate Lecturer to join the teaching team and support the Business School this coming academic year. We have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Lecturer for the following module: Organizational Behaviour.

3 hours per week - 9 weeks, Thursday 3.30-5pm and 6-7.30pm Autumn Term, in-person teaching only, starts w/c 5 October 2026.

You will have knowledge of academic writing and presentation skills (e.g., literature research, argument development, critical thinking and discussion) and experience of teaching and supporting students in relevant courses and be qualified to the corresponding level of the award as required to teach (or demonstrate equivalent professional/industry level experience).

Further to the person specification, additional essential requirements for this role are:

  • At least a master’s degree in business and management / psychology related subjects or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Experience in teaching and supporting students in a seminar context involving small group activities, class discussions, and preparation for group and individual assessments.
  • Experience in assessing student learning, which for this module will be via group presentations and individual written coursework.

Remuneration Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College, starting rate £69.68 per hour inclusive of pro‑rata London Allowance and holiday pay, for contact hours worked. This hourly rate is based on the starting point of Grade 7 and is inclusive of a 'Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ at 2.5, which covers preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
