Birkbeck, University of London invites you to join the teaching team as an Associate Lecturer for the academic year 2026 (October 2026 to August 2027).

Modules

  • Legal Procedure (Dispute Resolution, Conveyancing and Criminal) - Wednesdays, 6‑7:30pm, in‑person starting w/c 11 January 2027
  • Legal Procedure (Dispute Resolution, Conveyancing and Criminal) - Wednesdays, 6‑7:30pm, in‑person starting w/c 26 April 2027
  • Professional Legal Conduct, Technology and Accounts - Thursdays, 6‑7:30pm, in‑person starting w/c 26 April 2027

Responsibilities

As an Associate Lecturer you will be responsible for delivering and developing the modules' contents during the Autumn Term from 5 October – 18 December 2026. This includes pre‑recorded content, readings, seminar activities, assessment, and related tasks.

Qualifications

  • Qualification at Master’s level (or above)
  • LLB, LLM QLD or Law Conversion Course (studied the 7 foundations of legal knowledge)
  • Teaching experience in higher education
  • Legal practice experience and/or experience delivering legal practice modules

Remuneration

Hourly rate based on Grade 7, £69.68 per hour inclusive of pro‑rata London Allowance, holiday pay, and a ‘Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier’ of 2.5 covering preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties.

Contract

Fixed‑term, part‑time teaching contract.
