Birkbeck, University of London is looking to hire a Programme Administrator to join the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences on a full‑time, permanent basis starting Summer 2026.
Salary range: £31,234 rising to £34,827 per annum.
Contract type: Open‑ended, full‑time (35 hours per week with two days on site in the university office in Bloomsbury, London).
Responsibilities- Support delivery of study programmes, managing college processes, systems and procedures.
- Address student queries and concerns sympathetically and in accordance with college policies to ensure a high‑quality student experience.
- Actively support student success and wellbeing, providing necessary resources and guidance.
- Provide administrative support and support Faculty activities.
- Flexible, able to work independently and as part of a team on a variety of projects, with strong organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, keen eye for detail, and solid background in administration, ideally within an educational setting.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands effectively, ensuring service levels are consistently met.
- Supportive and empathetic approach to student needs, aligned with college policies and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in using electronic systems (e.g. Microsoft Office 365, Teams, SITS student records, Moodle); training will be provided.
