We are looking for an experienced accounts payable professional to join our Finance team as a Payments Assistant at Birkbeck, University of London.
Salary and Benefits: £31,234 to £34,827 per year (Grade 4 on the College's London Pay Scale, including a consolidated London Weighting Allowance). Benefits include a competitive salary and pension scheme, 31 days paid leave, flexible working arrangements, generous benefits in the HE sector, and location in the heart of Bloomsbury, Euston, London.
Contract: Permanent, full-time contract (35 hours per week, hybrid working).
Responsibilities:
- A Payments Assistant will be responsible for processing invoices and credit notes, reconciling supplier accounts, handling queries, and supporting the preparation of BACS and international payment runs.
- You will maintain supplier records and support users of our Business World (Agresso) finance system, providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of accounts payable systems and processes, and financial regulations relevant to accounts payable including VAT treatment of invoices.
- Understanding of three-way matching and coding supplier invoices, and experience of preparing BACS payment runs.
- Proven IT skills and sound organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
