Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a Lecturer in French for a one-year fixed-term position, replacing a colleague on funded research leave.
Salary: £44,247 rising to £60,858 per annum. The salary is Grade LLEC on the College's London Pay Scale, which includes a consolidated weighting and allowance applicable to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
Contract: Fixed-term, 12 months, starting in September 2026; full time (35 hours per week with flexibility).
Responsibilities:
- Able to teach French language, modern and contemporary literature and culture (including film) at both BA and MA level.
- Convene select modules and conduct associated administrative tasks.
- Maintain an active research programme.
Qualifications:
- PhD.
- Experience teaching in higher education.
- Active programme of research.
