Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking an Administrator for the Birkbeck-UCL Centre for Neuroimaging, a cross‑institutional MRI centre located at the heart of Bloomsbury, London. This role supports the activities of the centre and works across Birkbeck, UCL and a wider partner community.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor centre accounts at Birkbeck and UCL and provide financial reporting to the Director and the Steering Committee as required.
- Maintain and update the BUCNI website to keep the research community informed of developments.
- Manage scheduling, invoicing and organisation of MRI operator training and user training safety software.
- Oversee the online safety training system, including registration of new safety‑trained users, arranging refresher sessions (online and in person) and maintaining up‑to‑date records.
- Coordinate BUCNI weekly meetings, steering groups and monthly project presentations, while maintaining comprehensive records for ongoing and past projects, including ethics, project approval, hours, agreements and revisions.
- Assure scanner suite readiness, manage supplies, maintain console rooms and reception areas, and lead contractual obligations and entitlements relating to Siemens Healthcare.
- Coordinate service contract payments, maintenance visits and support tender and procurement activity for scanner replacement, upgrades and additional services/equipment.
The role requires flexibility, a proactive approach and the ability to work closely with the core BUCNI team, Director, Finance colleagues, suppliers and researchers to underpin high‑quality centre operations and safety.
Remuneration:
Salary ranges from £17,414 rising to £19,491 per annum (pro‑rated £34,827 to £38,981 for a full‑time equivalent). This is Grade 5 of the College’s London Pay Scale, which includes a consolidated London Weighting Allowance.
