Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking an Associate Lecturer to join the teaching team and support the Business School this coming academic year.

Salary range: £69.68 per hour

Module: Organizational Behaviour

3 hours per week – 9 weeks (Thursday 3.30‐5.00pm and 6.00‐7.30pm) Autumn Term, in‐person teaching only, starts w/c 5 October 2026.

You will have knowledge of academic writing, literature research, argument development, critical thinking and discussion, and experience teaching and supporting students in relevant courses. The role requires qualification to the corresponding level of the award (or equivalent professional/industry experience).

Essential requirements:
  • At least a master's degree in business and management, psychology, or an equivalent relevant qualification
  • Experience teaching and supporting students in a seminar context involving small‐group activities, class discussions, and preparation for group and individual assessments
  • Experience assessing student learning via group presentations and individual written coursework

Payment is based on an hourly rate depending on length of continuous service with the College. Starting rate £69.68 per hour is inclusive of pro‐rata London Allowance and holiday pay, for contact hours worked. The hourly rate is based on Grade 7 and includes a Duties Related to Teaching Multiplier of 2.5, covering preparation, teaching, administration, assessment marking and other examining duties in connection with the course.
