Overview:

BirdsEyeView is a European Space Agency backed-InsurTech venture based in London. BirdsEyeView builds Natural Catastrophe Modelling & Exposure Management software for reinsurance and insurers globally. The software enables specialty insurers to model future floods, wildfires, tropical cyclones, and more.

The BirdsEyeView technology ecosystem includes a massive climate data infrastructure, scalable product development, and machine learning data cleansing and ingestion. By combining all these factors, BirdsEyeView helps underwriters assess their exposures to growing climate-change-induced natural catastrophes.

About the role

You will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of our Natural Catastrophe Modelling, Exposure Management and AI Schedule Ingestion software within the Lloyd’s insurance market, and in the Australian, US, Canadian, and European MGA market. You will leverage your extensive industry experience and network of contacts, leading our efforts to identify new sales leads, and establish valuable partnerships

Your deep understanding of the Lloyds insurance and reinsurance sectors will be instrumental in shaping our market strategy and optimizing our outreach efforts.

You’ll be joining a growing team of scientists, software developers and insurance experts and will have a unique opportunity to impact many levels of the firm, such as business applications and product development.

The role will present great opportunities for growth and you will play an important role in other areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your well-established network of contacts within the insurance industry to identify and cultivate new sales leads.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and segments, while staying updated on industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive team to refine the company\’s market positioning and tailor sales strategies.

Partnership Development:

  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders, including insurance brokers, reinsurance firms, and other relevant entities.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to ensure alignment between product offerings and customer needs, facilitating mutually beneficial partnerships.

Sales and Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing plans to increase brand awareness and product adoption within the target market.

Relationship Management:

  • Foster strong and lasting relationships with clients, acting as a primary point of contact and addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Engage in regular communication with existing clients to gather feedback, identify upselling opportunities, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements:

3+ years’ experience working as one of the following:

  • As a London Market or Lloyd’s (Re)insurance Broker or Underwriter
  • working in B2B software sales (ideally at a firm involved with Natural Catastrophe Modelling, Climate Risk, or Exposure Management)
  • Management Consultancy

Ability to work autonomously with excellent time, budget, and project management skills.

A hands-on, can-do attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic team environment.
