Purpose: We are currently looking for experienced 7.5 tonne Drivers to join our Transport team at our prestigious Ascot Drive Bakery. In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering Birds’ freshly made products to our shops, as well as returning empty racks and cabinets back to the bakery. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring our products reach our customers fresh and on time. We currently have one role requiring up to 42 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, and another position focused on Sunday working. Start times are between 3:30am and 4am, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys early starts and being on the road. Responsibilities:
- Load/unload vehicles; manual handling of rolling equipment and no hand balling involved
- Ensure vehicle loads are safe and secured with the appropriate restraints as per Company procedures and Safe Systems of Work
- Perform daily vehicle defect checks and log as necessary
Shifts: Full-time days of work are Monday to Saturday. Hours of work are 3.30am/4am to 11am/12pm, 42 hours per week. Sunday hours are from 4am and will be contracted to 7 hours per week.
Experience: Applicants must be of smart appearance and ideally have good knowledge of the local area but this is not essential as full training will be provided.
