The Weighing Up Technician reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for ensuring all ingredient weighing requirements across the business are carried out accurately, efficiently, and in line with production needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Weigh and prepare ingredients in line with Bakery and Savoury department batch requirements.
  • Decant ingredients and packaging into appropriate containers.
  • Replenish stock and hoppers as required.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Complete and maintain all traceability records in line with company procedures.
  • Maintain high standards within the Weighing Up Room.
  • Ensure full compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.

Shifts:

The role is 45 hours per week, with various day shift patterns available. Shifts start at 5am and finish at 2:30pm with a 30‑minute unpaid break. The role does not require weekend work but may require a flexible approach to cover staff holidays, sickness and busy periods.

Experience:

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to complete tasks to a high standard.
  • Good numerical skills.
  • Effective time management, with the ability to meet production targets within set timeframes.
  • Able to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and ingredients.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.

Qualifications:

A good standard of Maths is required in this role.

4 weeks holiday per year, increasing incrementally each year to 5 weeks holiday after 5 years of continuous service, plus bank holidays. Staff discount.
