Purpose
We have a unique opportunity for full-time Bakery Operatives to join our Day Bakery Team at our renowned bakery in Derby
Responsibilities
Mixing, forming, proving, baking, finishing and packing of our bakery goods to an exceptional standard
Shifts
The role is 45 hours per week, working a day shift starting at 5am. The role will require working 1 in 5 Saturdays to support our 7-day operation
Experience
Essential:
- Understanding of the mixing and processing of dough, both by hand and machine
- Enthusiastic and positive individuals with a flexible attitude who are comfortable working on their own or as part of a team
- Able to work under pressure without compromising quality or safety
- Able to demonstrate the ability to work to a high standard in an efficient, clean and tidy manner, observing the highest food hygiene guidelines to meet strict despatch deadlines
Desirable:
- Able to demonstrate pastry and confectionary skills such as piping and decorating to produce products to a high standard
- Production of both meat and non-meat products
- Manufacture of high care products such as sandwich fillings and cooked meats
- Operations of packing machines
- Previous experience in food production or a similar environment is preferred, however, full training will be provided for suitable applicants
Benefits
4 weeks holiday per year increasing incrementally each year to 5 weeks holiday per year (after 5 years continuous service) plus bank holidays. Staff discount
Note: Wage is £549.45 – £566.10 p/w dependant on experience
