Employment Type: Part-time
Purpose: To manage and assume overall responsibility for the success of the shop by leading all operational aspects of the shop, driving sales whilst at the same time controlling costs and being a skilled people manager.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the bakery team on Sundays, ensuring excellent customer service and smooth day-to-day operations.
- Take responsibility for opening and closing the store, following all company procedures and security requirements.
- Drive sales by maximising product availability, promoting bakery offerings, and delivering an outstanding customer experience.
- Supervise, motivate, and support team members, providing coaching and guidance where required.
- Ensure all products are presented to Birds Bakery standards, maintaining attractive and well-stocked displays.
- Monitor stock levels, manage waste effectively, and ensure accurate stock rotation following FIFO principles.
- Handle customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally, resolving issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Manage cash handling, banking procedures, and accurate reconciliation of daily takings.
- Coordinate staffing levels, break schedules, and workflow to ensure efficient store performance.
- Complete daily operational checks, paperwork, and reporting in line with company requirements.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping throughout the shop and back-of-house areas.
- Support recruitment, training, and development of team members to build a high-performing team.
- Act as a role model for Birds Bakery values, promoting a positive and welcoming environment for both customers and colleagues.
- Take overall accountability for store performance during Sunday trading hours, ensuring targets and operational standards are achieved.
Shifts: Sunday 9am - 4pm Plus flexible working to cover for staff holidays, sickness and busy periods.
Experience:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.

- Previous retail, hospitality, or food service supervisory experience.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions confidently.
