You will support the Shop Manager in all operational aspectsof running the shop and assume overall responsibility for the success of theshop in their absence.

Creating a friendly warming environment for not only ourcustomers but an environment where individuals are coached and inspired to dotheir best.

Responsibilities

  • Ensurethat excellent customer service is always provided by every member of yourteam.
  • Inspire, motivate, train and energise your team to increase sales.
  • Providestore performance information as required by the Area Manager
  • Effectivelymanage stock control and maximise the shop’s sales, payroll, waste, andreconciliation performance
  • Deliversales training to the store team members to develop skills in up sellingto ensure opportunities are maximised.
  • Managingstaff rotas on a monthly basis.
  • Ensurethe standards for food safety and health and safety are met consistently.
  • Ensurethat the visual presentation of the shop is in accordance with Birds'brand image.
  • Becompliant with Company policies and operational guidelines.
  • Ensurethat the very best people are recruited for the shop.
  • Leadby example and serve our customers in a helpful and friendly manner, taking the opportunity to upsell products.
  • Ensuringour displays are fully stocked with our amazing products and customershave plenty of choice to choose from.

Experience

  • Supervisoryexperience, desirable but not essential, with the skills and ability todrive and motivate the performance of your staff.
  • Asound understanding of shop operations and standards for success.
  • Aflexible attitude to working hours.
  • Goodcommunication and interpersonal skills
  • Abasic and practical knowledge of IT
  • Goodstandard of English and Maths
  • 4 weeks annual leave, increasing incrementally to 5 weeks after 5 years continuous service, plusbank holidays.
