Purpose
You will support the Shop Manager in all operational aspectsof running the shop and assume overall responsibility for the success of theshop in their absence. Creating a friendly warming environment for not only ourcustomers but an environment where individuals are coached and inspired to dotheir best.
Responsibilities
- Ensurethat excellent customer service is always provided by every member of yourteam.
- Inspire,motivate, train and energise your team to increase sales.
- Providestore performance information as required by the Area Manager
- Effectivelymanage stock control and maximise the shop’s sales, payroll, waste, andreconciliation performance
- Deliversales training to the store team members to develop skills in up sellingto ensure opportunities are maximised.
- Managingstaff rotas on a monthly basis.
- Ensurethe standards for food safety and health and safety are met consistently.
- Ensurethat the visual presentation of the shop is in accordance with Birds'brand image.
- Becompliant with Company policies and operational guidelines.
- Ensurethat the very best people are recruited for the shop.
- Leadby example and serve our customers in a helpful and friendly manner,taking the opportunity to upsell products.
- Ensuringour displays are fully stocked with our amazing products and customershave plenty of choice to choose from.

The successful candidate will need full availability to work from Monday to Sunday.
Experience
- Supervisoryexperience, desirable but not essential, with the skills and ability todrive and motivate the performance of your staff.
- Asound understanding of shop operations and standards for success.
- Aflexible attitude to working hours.
- Goodcommunication and interpersonal skills
- Abasic and practical knowledge of IT
- Goodstandard of English and Maths
- 4 weeks annual leave,increasing incrementally to 5 weeks after 5 years continuous service, plusbank holidays.
