Forests Impact and Insights Lead in Cambridge

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Contract: Open-ended

Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on skills/experience, plus competitive 12% pension benefit

Annual Leave: 25 days pro rata in year 1, increasing by 1 day p/a to 28 days

We are looking for a Forests Impact and Insights Lead to play a key role in delivering the strategy of BirdLife’s Global Forests Programme. In this role, you will be coordinating and overseeing the design and development of impact monitoring and data management systems to track, visualize, and report on a portfolio of sustainable forest finance projects underway.

How you will do this:

• Assessing the needs for forest conservation and restoration impact monitoring and reporting.
• Defining a scope of work and specifications for the tools and systems needed.
• Prioritisation and phasing of development within budget and organisational capacity.
• Selecting and overseeing procurement, and any customisation of tools/systems with vendors.
• Coordinating testing, training and rollout with users including BirdLife International staff and Partners.
• Identifying further opportunities for strengthening systems, budget requirements for that work, and assisting with related fundraising efforts.
• Helping to establish a framework of standardised metrics.
• Coordinating and overseeing the design of a Reporting Dashboard and Digital Information Management Platform.

What we are looking for:

To be successful in this role you’ll need to be an experienced product manager for data management systems, websites, apps or other related technologies. You should have knowledge of the current standards, technologies and systems related to biodiversity, climate and socioeconomic impact data collection. You will also need a strong understanding of data requirements for the purpose of reporting on outcomes-based funding and finance. Successful applicants will be organised with great attention to detail, strong communication skills and a strategic vision to design processes and deliver outputs.
