POSITION OVERVIEW

Birdeye is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Enterprise Business Development Representative to spearhead our outbound sales efforts in the Southeast Asia (SEA) region, with primary focus on Singapore and Malaysia. This role is critical to our regional expansion strategy and will be responsible for generating qualified pipeline for enterprise accounts across the SEA market.

As an Enterprise BDR, you will leverage your deep understanding of the Singapore and Malaysian markets to identify, engage, and qualify high-value prospects in the SaaS/MarTech space. You will work closely with Account Executives to build a robust sales pipeline and drive revenue growth in this strategic region. This is a high-impact role that combines outbound prospecting, consultative outreach, and pipeline development for our sales team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Outbound Prospecting & Lead Generation
  • Execute strategic outbound prospecting campaigns targeting enterprise companies (500+ employees) in Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Research and identify key decision-makers and buying committees within target accounts.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities through multi-channel outreach (cold calling, email, LinkedIn, video messaging).
  • Conduct 60-80 high-quality prospecting activities daily including calls, emails, and social touches.
  • Market Development & Strategy
  • Build and maintain deep knowledge of the Singapore and Malaysian enterprise markets, including industry trends, competitive landscape, and buying behaviours.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop region-specific messaging and campaigns that resonate with SEA buyers.
  • Identify market opportunities and provide feedback to sales leadership on market trends and competitive intelligence.
  • Adapt outbound strategies based on cultural nuances and business practices in Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Qualification & Discovery
  • Conduct initial discovery calls to understand prospect pain points, business objectives, and technical requirements.
  • Qualify leads based on BANT/MEDDIC or similar qualification frameworks.
  • Articulate Birdeye value proposition and ROI to C-level executives and senior decision-makers.
  • Schedule qualified meetings and demos for Account Executives with enterprise prospects.
  • Sales Collaboration & Pipeline Management
  • Work closely with Account Executives to develop account-based strategies for target enterprise accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce CRM.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly/quarterly targets for qualified opportunities and meetings booked.
  • Participate in regular pipeline reviews and forecast calls.
  • Relationship Building
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders in target accounts.
  • Serve as the first point of contact and brand ambassador for Birdeye in the SEA region.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up cadences with prospects throughout the sales cycle.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of proven B2B sales or business development experience, specifically selling from Australia into Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and lead generation for enterprise accounts.
  • Track record of consistently meeting or exceeding quota/targets in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Experience with full sales cycle from prospecting through close (or handoff to AE).

Industry & Market Knowledge

  • Required: Experience in SaaS and/or MarTech industries.
  • Deep understanding of the Singapore and Malaysian business landscape, buying behaviours, and cultural considerations.
  • Knowledge of enterprise sales processes and complex buying cycles.
  • Familiarity with customer experience, reputation management, or related technology sectors is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Experience with sales engagement platforms (Outreach, SalesLoft, Apollo, or similar).
  • Strong working knowledge of LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other prospecting tools.
  • Comfortable with video conferencing and presentation tools (Zoom, Teams, etc.).

Communication & Language

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with C-level executives and senior decision-makers.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling abilities.
  • Additional language skills (Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, Tamil) are a plus.

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.

  • Previous experience working for a high-growth SaaS company.
