Full-time Description
Commercial Business Development Representative (BDR)
Location: Sydney, Australia | Position Type: Full-time
About Birdeye
Birdeye is the leading agentic marketing platform for multi-location brands. Companies like H&R Block, Aspen Dental, and Caesars Entertainment use Birdeye to manage marketing across thousands of locations — from how they get found, to how they convert, to how they retain customers. Our platform replaces disconnected point tools with AI agents that execute work at the location level — responding to reviews, updating listings, publishing content, and driving conversions.
The Role
As a Commercial BDR, you will be the engine of our sales pipeline. You will be responsible for identifying, reaching out to, and qualifying high-potential commercial accounts. This is a role that requires a mix of strategic research, persistent outreach, and the ability to have high-level consultative conversations with business leaders.
Core Responsibilities
- Outbound Prospecting: Execute outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn to generate qualified leads with multi-location businesses within the commercial segment.
- Strategic Research: Identify key accounts and conduct personalised brand audits - including evaluating their local SEO visibility & data accuracy, social media, and AI search presence (ChatGPT, Gemini).
- Relationship Building: Engage key decision-makers (C-level, Marketing Directors, Ops Leaders) using a consultative approach to understand their business challenges.
- Strategic Multi-threading: Master the art of the "wide-net" approach. You will engage multiple stakeholders across different departments from Marketing to Operations to IT to build internal consensus and insulate deals from single-point-of-contact failure.
- Pipeline Management: Coordinate with Account Executives (AEs) to ensure a seamless transition of qualified opportunities and provide deep context for demos.
- CRM Excellence: Maintain meticulous records of all interactions in Salesforce, ensuring data integrity and accurate forecasting.
- Product Mastery: Stay ahead of industry trends and deeply understand the Birdeye product suite to effectively position our AI-driven solutions.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a BDR/SDR in the SaaS industry, with a proven track record of hitting or exceeding monthly targets.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You must be comfortable "picking up the phone" and leading natural, value-driven conversations.
- Sales Tech Stack: Proficiency in Salesforce, SalesLoft, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Consultative Mindset: The ability to move beyond a script to uncover pain points and position Birdeye as a solution, not just a tool.
- Resilience & Drive: A self-motivated "hunter" mentality. You thrive in a goal-oriented environment and view challenges as opportunities to grow.
- Local Presence: Must be currently based in Sydney, Australia with full working rights.
