We seek a Marketing & Business Development professional to support Bird & Bird’s International Media, Entertainment & Sport and Data sector groups with MBD activities.
Your Client Groups
- Media, Entertainment & Sport (MES): The MES group covers Sport, Gambling, Games, and Media sectors, working with leading brands and high‑profile cases.
- Data: The Data group includes 140 lawyers across Privacy & Data Protection, Digital Rights & Assets, Tech & Comms, IP, and regulatory, navigating complex data regulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the execution and implementation of the MBD plans for the two groups.
- Facilitating cross‑selling opportunities with other sector/practice/country teams, including client/industry research, reporting and advising on key findings.
- Assisting in the preparation and co‑ordination of legal directory and awards submissions and publication of rankings and client testimonials.
- Producing excellent and up‑to‑date marketing materials (e.g. brochures, flyers, social media posts).
- Leading the creation of regular newsletters and ad hoc client alerts.
- Coordinating key digital marketing tools such as blogs, apps, videos, podcasts and online resources.
- Supporting pitches, bids and tenders, adhering to the firm’s best practice guide.
- Assisting with event preparation (e.g. seminars, webinars, industry conferences), creating targeted lists and following up on actions.
- Updating content in the groups' apps and assisting in the creation of new apps and client tools.
- Developing and maintaining key MBD‑related infrastructure, including the intranet, CRM, Loopio and pitch‑related content.
- Attending and preparing for all relevant group meetings, contributing to the agenda and following up on initiatives.
- Supporting marketing budget management, including providing data to assess ROI, value and opportunity cost of initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience (such as an internship) in a professional services environment, ideally with international exposure.
- Experience supporting senior stakeholders.
- Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and interest in key legal and commercial issues affecting the sector/practice groups.
- Strong writing, editing and proficiency in MS applications (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other platforms such as CRM systems.
- Willingness to learn and use new tools and AI‑powered legal technology to improve efficiency and workflow processes.
