| We are looking for a trainee Trade Mark Attorney to join our brand management team in London. We are interested in graduates who wish to join the Trade Mark profession. We will consider applicants with a degree in any subject.
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake the necessary CITMA courses and, over time, qualify as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice on a wide range of brand related issues, both non-contentious and contentious.
- Assist in the management of Trade Mark portfolios across the globe, including advice on Trade Mark clearance, drafting specifications, implementing and managing trade mark filing programmes and preparing observations and submissions in response to objections.
- Conduct proceedings before the registries, such as Trade Mark oppositions and Trade Mark and design cancellation actions and management and co-ordination of such actions worldwide.
- Liaise with fee earners within the IP team and across other practices and communicate directly with clients, building strong and lasting relationships.

- Excellent academic achievement with a minimum degree classification of 2:1, or an equivalent level of qualification.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and quality of your work, and are proactive in exploring how emerging technologies can support and improve your day-to-day practice.
- Excellent technical document management skills, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Confidence and a proactive attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with good attention to detail.
- An ability to stay calm in demanding situations.
- Excellent organisational skills.
In addition, we expect candidates to demonstrate:
- An ability to build strong working relationships, both internally and externally, where applicable.
- The ability to liaise effectively with fee earners and support staff within the group, but also to liaise and coordinate with people from other relevant disciplines and teams including colleagues overseas.
- Keenness to work in a challenging, team-based environment with flexibility regarding working hours.
- Ability to deal with a high-volume workload and turn around deadline-driven work quickly and effectively.
- Able to deal directly with clients and manage client relationships.
